The USBC Junior Gold Championships are taking place this week. The first three rounds of qualifying concluded on Wednesday, July 14, 2010. The difficult patterns used for this tournament have kept scores fairly low. There are three oil patterns being used this year. More information on the patterns can be found on the USBC Junior Gold Championships page in my oil pattern library.

The cut score for the top 150 boys was 3488 (18 games, 193.78 Average). The boys leader for qualifying is Jacob Kent from Newark, NY with a score of 3926 (218.11 Average).

The top 78 girls cut score was 3316 (18 games, 184.22 Average). The leader for the girls at the end of qualifying is Addileen Pointer from Highland, MI with 3967 (220.39 Average).

The semifinals round is underway today, with twelve more games in the semifinals. The cut to the top 16 will then be made before matchplay begins on Friday, July 16.
