Track 5 Series and “Spare” Bowling Balls – January 2010
Track has come out with a new naming system for their bowling balls. We’ll look at the 5 series here. They have introduced the 505A and the 505C. The first number in the name corresponds to the strength of the coverstock, currently 5-9, with 9 being the highest. The second number corresponds to the strength of the core, in this case, 05 for both balls. The letter corresponds to the shape the ball is intended to make going down the lane. In this case, the 505A is meant to be “angular,” while the 505C is supposed to be “controlled.” Here are the two 5 series bowling balls and their spare ball.
