U.S. Open
The 40 foot U.S. Open pattern is the toughest pattern used on tour. This pattern is flat, from gutter to gutter. Making shots and being very accurate are very important for scoring on this pattern. While you may not expect to throw many strikes, covering your spares is very important. Staying clean will get you far on the U.S. Open pattern. On this pattern it is very difficult to get out ahead, while after missing a couple spares you can fall behind very quickly into a hole that is very hard to climb out of.
