Challenge Series
The difficulty of the challenge series ranks between the sport series and the recreation series. The challenge series is meant to bring down the scoring pace from typical house conditions, but still be more forgiving than the sport series. These patterns vary with an oil ratio of 3:1 to 5:1.
Route 66 – 45′
Middle Road – 39′
Broadway – 37′
Beaten Path - 41′

I am bowling in an upcoming tournament and the pattern is the “BeatenPath”. I have never bowled on it and would appreciate some info on the patten in terms of how the pattern is laid out on the lanes. The tournament is 10 games. how long does it take for the oil pattern to burn out…Any info would be appreciated
When I bowled on the Beaten Path pattern, bowlers were able to play on all parts of the lane. Most bowlers stayed around the track area. After a few games, the middle of the lane opened up and bowlers continued to get deeper as the day went on.
