Well, as a participant in this year’s Masters. I will tell you this now. It is no longer 39 feet. They have it at 40 feet and at 29mL on the oil amount. There is a lot of oil out there. After a solid hour and a half of practice. I still had plenty of oil showing up on my ball.

I love plastic ball tournaments. I believe that they should be more common in regular league play. I would join a plastic ball league. It would bring the cream to the top where accuracy is your friend.

Yeah, I too felt badly for Mika. He probably made the 10 pin 150 times all week and whiff one. That was the 10 heard around the world. He’ll be back. They don’t call him “Major” for nothing.

I would love to give you a visual description of these patterns, but I have not been able to find them. The only images that have been released by the USBC are the graphs showing how the oil is spread out at 2 separate points on the lane. These images can be found on the USBC's website here.
