Kegel Collegiate Classic Results
The 2009 Kegel Collegiate Classic featured 31 men’s teams and 23 women’s teams.
In the men’s tournament Robert Morris University (IL) defeated Wichita State University’s ‘Barnes’ team with scores of 225 and 192 to Wichita State’s 209 and 167. In the semifinals Wichita State defeated Rochester Institute of Technology and Robert Morris defeated Wichita State’s ‘Rash’ team. Wichita State’s Josh Blanchard lead all bowlers with a score of 1297 (+97, 216.17 Average). Other All-Tournament Team members included Michael Snell (1290) from Nebraska-Lincoln, RIT’s Tyler Hermann (1282), Robert Morris’ Mikey Hill (1269), and JR Raymond (1244) from McKendree University.
In the women’s tournament McKendree University’s #1 team used scores of 180 and 211 to defeat Wichita State University’s ‘Black’ team’s 157 and 185 scores in the finals. McKendree defeated Robert Morris University (IL) in the semifinals while Wichita State defeated McKendree’s #2 team. Wichita State had four bowlers make the All-Tournament team. The top bowler was Rocio Restrepo with a score of 1234 (+34, 205.67 Average). Other top bowlers included Sandra Gongora (1222), Jazreel Tan (1220), Mariana Ayala (1210), and McKendree’s Brandi Branka (1184).

This upcoming weekend will feature the Boilermaker Classic, hosted by Purdue University, in Lafayette, Indiana and the Brunswick Southern Collegiate Classic in Marietta Georgia.
2009 Pennsylvania Classic Results
In the men’s tournament, William Paterson University led the team games and the baker games on their way to winning the tournament with a final score of 10,265. William Patterson was led by Jonathan Deuire. Rochester Institute of Technology finished second with Briarcliffe College in third. Shippensburg University’s Mark Strausbaugh led the tournament with a score of 2008 (+208, 223.11 Average).
For the women, Penn State University won the tournament with a score of 8826. Briarcliffe College finished second with SUNY Institute of Technology in third. Penn State’s Liz Seibel (1837) and Danielle Knittle (1774) led the tournament.

2009 Orange & Black Classic Results
Lindenwood University won for both the men and women in the 2009 Orange & Black Classic.
On the men’s side, Lindenwood’s “Gold” team qualified in first over Calumet College of St. Joseph, Vincennes University, and Lindenwood’s “Lions” team. Lindenwood’s “Gold” team lost early, but their “Lions” team swept the competition to win the tournament, beating Calumet in the finals. Lindenwood’s winning team was led by Dean Richards. Toledo’s Joe Sabo led all bowlers in the tournament with a score of 1361 (+161, 226.83).
In the women’s tournament, Pikeville College had teams qualify first and third, but both teams lost to Lindenwood University. Lindenwood came from the 4th spot to win the tournament. The winning Lindenwood team was led by Jenny Petzoldt. Pikeville’s Jennifer Wright led the tournament with a score of 1416 (+216, 236 Average).

2009 Jakarta Super Classic Top 30
The Malaysians are all over the top of the leaderboard at the 2009 Jakarta Super Classic Top 30 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Malaysia’s Muhd Nur Aiman and Mohd Noer Said are first and second so far in the tournament with Australia’s George Frilingos in third. US bowlers Robert Smith and Bruce Falcon made the cut to the top 30. Aiman is leading the field with a score of 5294 (+494, 220.58 Average). The cut score for the top 30 is 4561 (-239, 188.79 Average). The top 30 bowlers will bowl the semifinals on Friday, then there will be another cut made before the top 4 will bowl in the stepladder finals.



College Bowling Tournaments This Week
There are a few college bowling tournaments taking place this weekend. Last weekend featured the Central Florida Classic, Brickyard Classic, and Mid-States Championship. Webber International University (men) and the University of Central Florida (women) won in the Central Florida Classic. Vincennes University (men) and Robert Morris University (women) won in the Brickyard Classic. Wichita State University (men & women) won in the Mid-States Classic.
This weekend’s big tournament is the Orange & Black Classic taking place at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Beavercreek, Ohio. The Orange & Black Classic is hosted by Pikeville College. Last year’s champions were Lindenwood University (men) and Ball State University (women). The Pennsylvania Classic is taking place at Leisure Lanes in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Last year’s champions were William Paterson University (men) and Briarcliffe College (women). The first NCAA tournament is also taking place this weekend. The Bossier City Classic will take place in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Central Florida Classic Results
The Central Florida Classic took place this past weekend at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando, Florida. They had 16 men’s teams and 5 women’s teams compete from 9 different schools from all over Florida.
Webber International University’s “Gold” team won on the men’s side. The University of Central Florida’s “Gold” team finished in second. Webber International’s “Green” team finished in third and Santa Fe College finished in fourth. See the full results on the CollegeBowling.com forums.

Brickyard Classic Results
The 15th Annual Brickyard Classic took place this past weekend at Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana. This tournaments had 30 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams, coming from all over the midwest area.
Vincennes University won the tournament on the men’s side after finishing runner-up last year. Purdue University finished second and Morehead State University finished third.
Robert Morris University (IL) won the women’s tournament. Ball State University finished second, while St. Ambrose University finished third.

Mid-States Championship Final Results
Wichita State University’s “Lambert” team finished first on the men’s side of the 2009 Mid-States Championship with a score of 13,441. Newman University’s “Blue” team (12,772) finished second, while Wichita State’s “Waliczek” team (12,592) finished 3rd. In the women’s tournament, Wichita State University fielded three of the top four teams. Wichita’s State’s “Guerrero” team won the tournament with a score of 12,685. Wichita State’s “Lagrange” team (11,706) finished in second and their “Sandham” team (10,928) finished in fourth. West Texas A&M University finished third in the tournament with a score of 11,294. Morgan, Futrell, Jaros, Baker Win PBA Regional Tournaments
Nick Morgan won the PBA West Region Palo Alto Lanes Open with a score of 4381 (+381, 219 Average) and a 5-2 record. Morgan defeated #1 qualifier Scott Norton, Steven Villanueva and Jeff Frankos on his way to winning the open. The PBA West Region Palo Alto Lanes Open was bowled on the PBA Cheetah pattern. Jay Futrell won the PBA Midwest/Southwest Region Barney’s Open with a score of 4888 (+488, 222 Average) and a 7-2 record. Futrell defeated Marc Heninger and John Kay to win the tournament. J.R. Raymond qualified and won 2 matches to finish 4th. Derek Sapp qualified 1st with a score of 2885 (+285, 221 Average), but lost in the first round of matchplay. Steve Jaros won the PBA Central Region Boss Plows/Mid States Truck Open with a score of 4582 (+582, 229 Average) and a matchplay record of 9-3. Jeff Zaffino (4592) finished 2nd and Ken Abner (4553) finished 3rd. Saginaw’s Dan MacLelland bowled will and finished 5th in the tournament. Tom Baker won the PBA South Region Camp LeJeune Open with a score of 4761 (+761, 238 Average) and a matchplay record of 9-3. Jason Mahr (4771) finished 2nd and Shawn McKee (4694) finished 3rd. Mid-States Championship Day 1 Women’s Results
